Are We Really Gentle With Our Words?

This is an article on being kind to people and respecting everyone's health.

I have heard the phrase, “Be kind to everyone you meet because everyone is going through something” I thought about it. Are we really kind to people around us? There was news trending about suicide on a particular social app. I looked through the comments and saw all manner of things- people encouraging other people to be gentle with their words and actions. I genuinely thought that there would be a change and people would be more careful and watchful with their words.

After that day, we were all back to our vomit. Using people’s insecurities against them, playing “innocent” and “harmless” jokes on humans, and playing with people’s feelings. I’m guilty, and so are you. We often forget that we are ALL humans, and we have the ability to hurt. Just like you’re hurting, another person is. The problem is that not everyone hurts the same way. Some people are experts at hiding their pain. The term “Smiling depression is so evident these days, and not many people believe in it because of social media.

Social media has become a place where you hide imperfections, and your story is funny, beautiful, thirst-trap hilarious content. The term "Smiling Depression" basically means someone hiding their pain through a smile. If you see a smile on a person’s face, it does not guarantee happiness. We're not sure if someone is genuinely happy or just faking it. But there are various ways to know that someone could be going through something.

Being mentally exhausted, physically exhausted, unmotivated to work or partake in various activities, and popularly, substance abuse. I just wanted to emphasize the fact that we should try to be kind to people. Social media can be deceiving. Not all smiling pictures or turn-up videos means that a person is completely okay. Why should we be careful with our words? Words have power. You cannot take them back. Most importantly, you alone are responsible for all the words you say.

Just like we want everyone to be easy on us, let us be easy on others.
