Be Comfortable With Growing At Your Own Pace

... don't compare your progress with that of others...TAKE YOUR TIME TO GROW.

The caption may seem totally off for you, especially at this time when human beings are hungry for immediate gratification, but that is just the truth. I’m not just speaking to you reading this, but I’m also speaking to myself, who’s writing this. It isn’t easy trying to remain patient with yourself, especially when you see others doing so well in the areas you are trying to improve upon. You may be more knowledgeable than they are but just have not gotten the chance to really show the world what you are capable of. It is frustrating. Trust me, I know.

One thing I try to always remind myself is this, “Be comfortable with growing at your own pace. Work at your own pace. Do not measure your progress with that of others.” The sky is wide enough for all of us to shine. Be okay with taking time to grow. I’m not saying you should fold your hands and do nothing. No!

Go for knowledge. Read books. Take courses to improve yourself. There are lots of opportunities to learn new things in your field. Even if you have no money to pay for training, you can still learn. Sites like Coursera and Alison offer some free courses that will be of help to you. Attend free Whatsapp classes as they relate to you. Don’t see free classes as unimportant. There is always something new to learn. No one knows everything; even the big names in your niche/field are still learning.

See this period of “obscurity” as your training period. Learn and unlearn. Keep an open mind. Experiment till you figure out what works best for you. There are days when you’ll feel like doing nothing. There are days when you’ll feel discouraged. Look at your vision board. Don’t wallow in self-pity. Do not underestimate yourself. Think uplifting thoughts.

Keep growing! Keep learning! Don’t live your life comparing yourself to others! Take time to develop yourself! The results of the work you are doing now will not show immediately. Be patient and stay positive. The law of seed-time and harvest is universal. As long as you are sowing seeds, your harvest will come!
