Choosing The Right Career

I'm not sure I'm the only one struggling with choosing the right career. Here are a couple of things I have left and mastering when it comes to career.

Unfortunately, not everyone has everything figured out. Some people, right from birth, know what they want to be Tech-sis, fashion designer, or writer. It is noticeable to them and everyone around them. Not everyone has that luxury. The truth is that some of us will have to go through thick and thin to find out “Our thing.”

When I was younger, I thought about being an actress. I thought about acting with Van Vicker and possibly being his love interest, even if he was about twice my age. When I look back at my young age, I am convinced that it was something crazy. I am an introvert. I couldn’t possibly be a movie star when I couldn’t raise my voice in a room. It was bizarre.

At age 10, I noticed that I love to travel mentally. I have a wild imagination. I loved going to unfamiliar places because I would zone out and think about various things. From then, I knew I wanted to be a writer. For some, you have to try various things. I know about a doctor who decided to be a lawyer later on.

In choosing the right career, I bet the first thing you should consider is your passion. Passion is what drives you. If stories didn’t entice me, I wouldn’t be writing. That’s just me. You deserve something that wakes you up every morning with a smile. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. Passion is not enough to make money, especially in a country like ours. Not all careers are financially-attractive, but that’s where innovation comes in. Turn that passion into a money-making venture. There’s nothing impossible in this world. We have people making money from posting hot sexy pictures on Instagram. You can make money from absolutely anything. Choose the right career for you, not for your partner or your parents. It baffles me when people say that they became doctors or lawyers because it’s a family thing, then you suffer in that career because it’s a family heritage.

Don’t do that to yourself. That’s one of the reasons people come to their workplace so drained and unhappy. They don’t belong there.

I’ve heard people say that “You can’t shift careers. How would you do that?” Let me tell you something that most people don’t know. With dedication, hard work, and passion, you can achieve anything. If you were into tech before and suddenly wish to be a nurse, that’s awesome. That’s something for you to think about, not for someone to spit down on your dreams. Age and gender are no barriers to achieving dreams.

Choose something for you that makes you happy. Make sure you put in the work because no matter what, you need that money to give you that lifestyle you desire.
