Promoting The Empowerment Of The Girl Child.

The needs to empower every girl child. I will be deliberating on the topic: Promoting the empowerment of the girl child.

The girl child empowerment means encouraging and adding value to the girl, which can be done through demonstrating a commitment to upholding the rights of the girl child, strengthening and educating girls, ensuring information and process of reporting are accessible to girls, raising awareness in communities about girl child rights through websites, newsletters or any other local medium.

In order to curb the challenges faced by the girl child, the girl should be empowered. This is because of the exploitation of the girl child which involves taking undue and cruel advantage of the girl child for economic activities like hawking. This is very unfortunate; if the girl child is allowed to hawk on diverse streets, why not give her the chance to be educated. In the same vein, do you know that early marriage has put the future of a lot of girls at stake? Such girls hardly go back to school and are exposed to health complications as their body system is not fully formed. Have a rethink on the hazard young girls pass through; at this juncture, I will say allow the female child the right to be educated; remember that child marriage is never a solution. However, creating flexible educational settings for girls who are victims of child marriage or exploitation will go a long way to curb the menace.

Platforms should be provided for girls to be able to air out their views and problems. This will help various bodies understand the needs of the girl child and prefer solutions. Also, engage girls in decision-making and ask them questions related to their physical, psychological, emotional, material, and financial needs.

Help girls improve their self-esteem through organizing seminars, conferences, and more interesting programs to help the girl child realize her potential. Girls should be taught how to focus on building themselves and exhibiting their potential, thereby creating a sensation that the world will not forget.

Also, ensuring girls live free from gender-based violence and harmful practice through punishing violators of the girl child rights. Strengthening legislation and policy to support girls. Mobilize communities to support victims of gender-based violence so as to ensure that justice prevails. Meanwhile, the Government should implement a favorable policy for girl child protection to serve as an edge against offenders.

Moreover, sex education should be taught to girls to avoid teenage pregnancies, sexual assault, and an explosion of sexually transmitted diseases like HIV and AIDS, syphilis, and gonorrhea among teenage girls. The girl child should be given the opportunity to learn new skills for the future she chooses. As well as empowering girls with economic and educational resources. Special attention should be given to girls with disabilities so as to give them a sense of belonging. Girls with disabilities should not be victimized or stigmatized because despite their physical disability lies an inherent ability.

In addition, traditional and religious leaders should admonish their subjects on the importance of the girl child's rights by making people understand that the girl child's rights mean no harm; it is only meant to protect the girl child for a better society.

Furthermore, allowing the girl child to lead as a generation of activists accelerating social change will help to empower girls. Today, the world has witnessed that the power of a girl child is vital for socio-economic development as many young girls have become voices in this generation advocating for problems across the globe. Not to mention a few peace a Nigerian girl who is an educational activist, Greta Thunberg, a teenage girl, has become the world-famous face of the climate strike movement. With this, I can say that the girl child's success knows no bounds, and our world will be a better place.

Finally, promoting girl child empowerment will help achieve gender equality by ensuring that girls' rights across the globe will get justice. An economy that will work for all and sustain our shared environment now and for future generations. Remember that the girl child is an asset to our nation, support the girls in your locality today.
