Rise Up, Mighty Warrior

You are a warrior and champion. No matter what, get up and fight through.

John was a mighty warrior, a giant who was tired and exhausted from wounds and pains sustained in battle. He had fought so bravely, but like other men, he had come to his witts end and just lay helplessly on the ground. Then, suddenly, some little dwarfs appeared out of nowhere and started buffeting and piercing his already weakened body with sharp and dangerous objects.

Each time John attempted to get up, the little dwarfs, obviously scared of him, ran for their lives and took cover in a nearby bush. But then, due to his extreme exhaustion and severely weakened body, he would fall back down, and the little dwarfs would return and continue from where they stopped. This continued for two or three more times until finally, John, the mighty warrior, stood up, and being greatly terrified, the little dwarfs ran for their lives and left him for good.

Though greatly wounded in battle, the little dwarfs were no match for John, who had already fought and won many battles and led his army to great victories. But who is John, the mighty warrior? He is none other but you, my dear friend. You are the mighty warrior, the giant, and the hero. Though you have been marred and greatly wounded in the battle of life, you are the mighty warrior, and this present challenge is no match for you.

The challenges you are in right now are like those little dwarfs, and they are dead scared of you. Rise and dust them off. The scars and wounds of war are not symbols of shame and failure but emblems of victory and glory. The scars and wounds are a testimony that you fought and survived the fight. There’s no general or warrior without his scars. You may have fallen. We know that. You may have failed. We know that too. But we also know that you are a mighty warrior, and this challenge is no match for you. Rise up, mighty warrior. Rise up, great hero. Shake off the chains and limitations. You can shine and fly again.

Like John, keep trying to rise even though it may be very painful and difficult to do that. Those little dwarfs will keep buffeting and spotting with you unless you rise. “Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you” (Ephesians 5:14); “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth, and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you, and his glory appears over you” (Isaiah 60:1-2).

We depend on you, mighty warrior. God is waiting for you to rise. We are all connected in this fight. Please stand up for God, fight for us, fight for yourself and your family. You are a great warrior, and you cannot be defeated. This is the time to arise and squash the enemy. Don’t give in! Don’t cave in! Don’t give up! Rise up, mighty warrior. The world is waiting for your rising. “For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God” (Romans 8:19 NRSV)
