Solutions To The Common Mistakes Made By Most Creatives

The address of some mistakes made by most creatives and business persons even though they have become a norm.

It is high time I addressed the common mistakes made by most creatives, even if some have become the norm. DO NOT START A WORK UNLESS A DOWN PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE. When a client approaches you to carry out your service(s) without a down payment, don't scribble your finger on a surface and wear a silly smile; respectfully say NO. You need to discreetly make it known that it is expedient that a commitment be made first before implementation. It is a sign of seriousness. Any client, even if it's your friend or family member, that wants to cajole you into going against your principles, that is when the potency of your principles is known. Over familiarity for business dey cause wahala. Don't ever go ahead with it because you never know when they might change their minds. Well, that mostly happens. If you approach me with this kind of deal, trust me, I have slippers designed to respond to you.

DO NOT CHARGE OUT OF PITY.

I know you are a philanthropic businessperson, and you desire for people to live in comfort. But the truth is that if you sacrifice your profits for the comfort of your clients each time they come with numerous complaints, your capital becomes threatened, and you might be tempted to borrow in order to remain in business. That is not wise. Your services are echoes in nature; they return a portion of what you send out through profitable means.

A client who has enough money but fails to patronize you and later comes to you because he is low on cash should not be taken seriously. Business is not a philanthropic enterprise. Most artists, including myself, often experience this. STOP WINGING YOUR SALES. What do I mean? If you are creative and you hardly take note of your cash record, you spend as you receive, you have no reasonable budget list, and all you can pay attention to are your immediate needs, you will become frustrated. What am I saying, sef? In plain terms, you will have nothing to fall back on, nada!

Keeping records helps you to be disciplined in your spending, and in fact, it gives a projection of how the business is growing and the lapses that need to be addressed. Well, ayaff kuku talk my own, and if you still want to buy that iPhone when you need to buy a freezer to aid your business, the Lord is your strength.

DO NOT BORE YOUR POTENTIAL CLIENTS WITH CONSTANT ADVERTISING OF YOUR SERVICE(S).

I needed to mute a person's message for a year recently on WhatsApp, and that is because it obstructs important messages, and sharing the same content every day without giving me compelling reasons why I need to patronize you is a total turn-off. Should we talk about the WhatsApp updates? Ah! All is well.

If people are very familiar with the kind of updates you put up as status updates, there is a possibility they won't open them. Surprise them with befitting content that could be outside of what you do, post some funny but educative memes, and surprise them with a very captivating caption of your service(s). When you make people smile through your status, trust me, some will always come through. DON'T APPROACH YOUR BUSINESS AS A PHYSICAL ENTITY; IT IS SPIRITUAL.

If you are the kind of person who leaves God outside your business because you think it is nothing compared to church activities, you are obviously not ready to truly own a business. There are a lot of business gurus out there who are dependent on one spiritual covering or another, and if you think you can compete with them based on the supposed knowledge you feel you have, you might be trampled upon. But if you solely put God within, above, under, before, and after you in your business, coupled with the knowledge you have, I'm sure you will stand out. Let God settle your business, alright? These are the few problems I can address today, and I do believe you will not hesitate to do the needful. Thank you.
