This brain exercise is to boost our focus and concentration level, and it is done by picturing an object or a scene in your mind, keeping your eyes fixed on the object for 3-5 minutes or more. It might sound easy, but it is really hard. Since this month, I have been training my mind, spirit, and soul on the art of FOCUS! Most times, I wonder how my kid sister at home would watch a Korean movie without subtitles 😲🤔
Her ability to stay focused and understand their moves, facial expression, and actions amaze me. I seem impatient to analyze all that. 🤦♀️ One night, I tried the brain exercise on focus! Mehn, I couldn't stay focused as so many thoughts were running in my head. At first, I pictured a house. Second, I pictured a car. The third, I pictured a book. The fourth, I pictured myself, my very face, but I lost focus 😭
It is not easy as you think, maybe for someone like me who has a lot of things on her mind ranging from how to make money to how to become a global queen 😜🤷♀️ The last time, I pictured the book I am currently writing. I pictured how the book would look after the whole process; the book size, weight, and design 🤣 At the same time, I was not trying to get distracted. Mehn! Was I daydreaming? No! You don't dream when you sleep. I learned that dreams are what you have seen but can't let you sleep! 😜
I fixed my eyes on the book picture even when I was not done yet. For the first time, I stayed for up to 2 minutes feeling the moment. Another picture came in, the book launch; I pictured a classical moment. Boom! I got disconnected and opened my eyes. This focus-ability exercise works like a craze. I learned a lot within 2 minutes of fixing my eyes on a picture. Try it out and know how long you can stay focused. This hack is just to exercise your brain. Be intentional! I want to summarize these words Christina, in one of her videos on the art of focus.
She said, "Focus is about the thought I think and why I think them" focus is not becoming someone better but functioning exactly as well as we already are. Achieving long time focus involves directing our focus inward. Focus means paying attention to one thought amongst thousands of thoughts in your head" How focused are you? Shun distractions! Train your mind to be focused!
