The Green Grass

It is about how Jucy a garderner, was killed in her garden while dressing it. What led to her death? Find out in this thrilled- packed story.

It was a beautiful morning indeed! The weather was so cold, and every nook and crannies of Randy Avenue was calm and filled with the breeze- for that was the area Jucy lived with her family. She is married to her best friend, Jackie. They were both in their thirties, and we're expectant of the fruit of the womb. Jucy had planned to dress and do a little of the wedding and thinning or supply her house where she had a garden when she received an emergency from a client that he got a job for that day in his orchard. She was so excited as she thought of the pay as something worth her service. Jucy is a horticulturist, and you could call her a florist also. She is one of the best florists in town and had done a very good job for a client who had recommended her service to Mr. James who had called some minutes ago on the phone. She was so excited about this as how her creativeness had fetched fortune and fame in recent times. She decided to call the work on her garden a quit for that day as she won't want to disappoint the new client he had- the first impression, they say, lasts longer. She put her work clothes in her bag along with her working tools and set out to Allen avenue, which is about an hour's drive to her place.

Soon, she was at the front gate of the place and pressed the gate bell to notify her presence. After a short while, a white man comes out to attend to the person at the gate. They exchanged greetings after a little introduction to each other. She was directed to the orchard, which is at the back of a two-story building in the compound. In a jiffy, Jucy is seen in her work outfit and begins the day's job. She worked and hummed as she enjoys that whenever she is at work.

The work lasted for three hours, during which she had some refreshments gotten by her client to her. She appreciated the kind gesture, and Mr. James commended her good job. " Waoh! my orchard now looks more beautiful as you have put some finishing and touches on it. I like your service, and I will like to send for you again anytime when the need arises". " It's my pleasure... I enjoyed doing it with passion, said Jucy to Mr. James. She got her pay, and off she went back home. While on the way, she remembered some beautiful ornamental plants she saw at Mr. James' place, and she decided to get them at the floral stores at the supermarket before heading back home finally. This she did and went home with it. She was really excited that when she got home, she shared how she had been with her hubby, who was already waiting for her return.

The following day was a bright and 🌞 sunny Sunday. After church, she went straight to the garden as that had been on her mind ever since she got the plant from the store, and once more, her garden needed some touch. She began work on the farm not too long before she screamed out. This went down again, but after a few seconds, she yelled and shouted for help. Her hubby had been in the gymnastics room and wasn't able to hear her screaming as the room was far from the garden area. She gasped for breath and was screaming till she was helpless. She eventually lay down helpless, and her breathing wasn't normal again.

An hour later, her hubby was out of the room to get something to eat. She called for Jucy, but no response, and that's unusual of her. He went around the house until he spotted a figure lying down in the garden. He rushed down and realized the figure was lifeless. He got his car keys and drove her to the hospital for treatment. But as fate will have it, it was too late as she was confirmed lifeless. He couldn't help crying for days. He ruminated on what could have killed her wife. After some days, he saw a green rope moving in the garden; he went after it and killed it. He thought to himself," could that be what killed her wife?" He ran an autopsy test on her to confirm this and, in turn, turned positive. It had gone viral on the news that the poisonous green grass had killed a florist for some days, and no one knew what could be the cause. But information gathered from late Jucy's hubby confirmed that no other thing than a green snake under the green grass had killed the florist.

What a pathetic situation!
