The Power Of Friendship

Make Friends who bring out the best in you...I was just reminiscing and a memory came to me.

About this friend. I admired how he talked and had a solution to every problem; he was so knowledgeable, and deep down, I wanted to know his secret. I wanted to hear him talk. Maybe I could be wise and speak the way he speaks and have solutions to problems the way he does. I got close, and you know, as expected, he began to really impact much knowledge into my dumb head, but that's not the story. He gave me some tapes to listen to and recommended some books. I don't really like to read but remember, I wanted to be like someone, so I started from somewhere.

The secret: I was not interested to read Not until I got to the part that says, "the universe always brings to us whatever we have thought in our heart," i.e., the universe emerges from thoughts, and we have to be aware before it could emerge. Oh well, the writer actually shared his story in the book.

Trust me, na, the reader, I Esther would want to try out everything and know everything, so I started. There was this competition going on in my school, and I was like, okay. This was me talking to myself. Inner Esther: why not try this thing everyone has been talking about. You know you can write; why not just give this one a try, the first of its kind.

Physical Esther: no, go fall your hand oo. Inner Esther: Your friend told you about purpose. Don't you think you are on a journey to discover your purpose? Remember he said it's found in the number of things you love to do. And then the inner me had a brief flashback to where the book said, "whatever you think you can achieve." With every confidence, I decided to give it a trial; what do you expect falling my hand, right? Fast forward, I did a quick write-up since it wasn't a hard task; it is something I love doing.

Then after I submitted, I started applying the rule I was intentional this time. I kept my mind fixed on what I wanted. The day for the result came close. I actually wanted the second position. So I imagined myself wearing the same cloth, the same shoe; I sat in the same place in my imagination. I was so much aware of what I wanted. Guess what? Your guess is right; exactly the way I imagined it was the way it happened. I couldn't believe it; it just happened.

When I remembered this story, I knew it would be so wise to remind some souls that whatever you have ever imagined can be achieved. The universe always brings it to our doorsteps only if we could be aware and intentional. Only if we can be positive and focus our mind on that which we want. Just like the GENIE, the universe says your wish is my command. So go ahead with that plan; you can be able to achieve it only if you can imagine it.
