The Unexpected Saga (episode 7)

Auntie Mabel got to the airport to pick up Annabel and Owen after a long period of vacation with their dad.

She got to the airport after having a session of a phone call with her husband. Annabel and Owen are so excited to be back in Nigeria. They rushed to hug their mom immediately after they saw her. My baby, Annabel, look at you! Your dad did a great job, I must say. Auntie Mabel said, facing Annabel. On the other hand, Owen was checking if someone else was in the car. His mom noticed this and asked if everything was fine.

Mom, I thought we both agreed that you'd come to get us with Kim; why is she not here? He asked his mom. That was the plan, but things changed. Kim has a little issue to sort out with her mom. For now, she is grounded. Auntie Mabel said. "Oh! That's it; she hasn't been answering her calls for days. It's fine; I'm sure I'll get to see her later". Need I remind you that Owen is of the same age as Kim, and he is the only guy she talks to and picks as her friend. Do not also forget that Owen's Mom is an aunt to Kim and Zoe.

Annabel, the sweet girl, the only daughter, and the last child to Auntie Mabel, is a cool and reserved girl, the opposite of Zoe. She lives to talk, though, but controls herself from being punished, unlike Zoe. They got to the house, and everyone relaxed and had a lot to talk about. On a sunny afternoon, Owen made her way to the Oluranti's house but met the unexpected. Kim has been grounded for some days now, without her phone, IPad, and headset. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨She finally knocked on her mom's room door and went in. On getting in, her mom asked her to sit down. "Kim, what's going on with you? What are you not telling me? What happened in school? Kim was dumbfounded for a while before she could utter a word. "Mom, I'm confused with your questions. I was coming from the school cafeteria, I suddenly started feeling dizzy, and all I could remember was falling". I went to get a drink from the cafeteria; I just took a little from it before collapsing.

The doctor called me before I made dinner earlier; he told me I had taken a drug you weren't supposed to take; I took it without getting the right prescription. What did you take, and why did you take it? Where did you get the drug? Mrs. Oluranti said. Kim was scared and surprised at what her mom said. Mom, I'm sorry it wasn't intentional. It was Earnest's fault. I was on my own before it happened. I didn't plan to let you down. Kim said with tears rolling down. Kim, I'm lost; I don't understand you. Her mom said. On a fateful day, during the labor period, I was at the school farm clearing my portion of land given to me by the labor prefect. I was slow with my work, clearing the space lazily. Earnest and other female students were also clearing their portion, but they did theirs on time and left me.

Earnest came to me, suggesting a helping hand, but I declined. He insisted on helping, which I allowed him. We finished clearing the path; this got me so excited. Earnest became one of my friends in class, aside from Owen. After a week, Earnest became so close and sweet in his character. He got me to lie to you one day about a lesson; meanwhile, I was heading to his house to play video games. You allowed me, asking the driver to drop me off. Getting to his house, we played the game and had fun, but Earnest raped me. He made sure I cleaned up and looked fine before heading back home. Zoe noticed I was not fine, but she didn't mention it to you. (Shocked) when did this happen? Her mom asked

The early period of the term. Her mom was quiet for a while and kept looking at Kim surprisingly. Mom, ever since I detest boys, kept a distance from them. Three days ago, I noticed some pains in the lower part of my tummy. I had no other choice, I texted him, and he gave me the drug the next day in school. Her mom was already in tears. Speaking to herself, she said; first, I caused my husband's death, but now I was careless to have noticed things with my kids. Mom, I'm sorry! I was scared and childish; I should have informed you about it. Is Owen aware? She asked Kim Yes, mom; he was the only one I could open up to. Was he aware of the drug you took? No, mom, he wasn't.

Everywhere became silent for a while before Mrs. Oluranti was able to speak. Kim, I'll have to get this boy punished. He defiled my daughter; he won't go scot-free. And you, you are grounded for taking such a delicate step without my knowledge. To your room now. ✨✨✨✨✨✨Mrs. Oluranti became restless and had a restless time all through the night. Should Earnest be punished? What did Owen encounter again? Is Kim right? Is she supposed to have spoken the truth, after all, it had happened already? I can feel her pain, though ☹️
