What If All That Happened To You Since You Were Born Is Your Fault!

Scary, is it? Yeah, it must be because it got you thinking and you are like... IS THIS TRUE? Let's explore the answers together then...

On a fateful day, I was so broke that I began to feel hatred for my dad for not giving me pocket money since I came back from school (at that period, there was an ASUU strike that spanned for months, so I just came back as an undergraduate, waiting at home to resume back to school as soon as possible (and doing nothing at home, so to say). So on this day, while the anger and hatred were rising in me, a thought just came to my mind which is thus; " Guy, if you had looked for a job probably in some kind of pharmacy or shop needing sales boy (moreover, there were a lot of them at that period) immediately you came back, or when the obvious sign that the strike would span for quite some time began to show, you would have started saving up some stipends already, and you won't have to rely so much on your dad! "sighs.

In my mind, I knew it was true because I went to a pharmacy nearby my house one day and saw a notice that a sales boy/girl was needed there (which was quite timely, because I didn't have any job at hand) but, I turned a blind eye and went my way.

Funny to you too? So do you think I can still blame my local-government-salary-dependent dad for not being able to give me (an over 18 years guy) pocket money after he shares the whole of his salary on the family's welfare? Don't be disappointed in me yet, 'cos we are not talking about me today but YOU. Okay, maybe you are like me(I wouldn't want you to be anyways), blaming your poverty, loss, weakness, pain on your parents or those around you; try to think about these things:

  • "What if I had studied hard when I was in secondary School/University and won a scholarship that would lift the tuition burden off my parents' shoulders, give me enough pocket money, or buy me clothes and shoes would not be an issue."
  • "What if I was a prayer warrior and had gotten close enough to the Holy Spirit to receive warnings about my friends cheating on me? Would I have ended up in this kind of mess?"

There are hundreds of questions, if not thousands, to ask to convince you that some of what, if not all, that happened to you are your fault and IN YOUR HAND IS THE KEY TO MAKE OR MAR YOUR DESTINY. Don't feel disappointed in yourself too; remember Ecclesiastes 9:4 says, "for to him that is joined to all the living there is hope, for a living dog is better than a dead lion." So as long as you still have lots in you, you can still make it, and you can still change things. Forget about changing the past, but equip your future enough that the past does not have the strength to weigh it down. Now you want to ask me, how can I do this, right? A lot of things are involved, but first things first;

  • Know God, the author, and finisher of our faith, the comforter, the great teacher, our guide, the light that shines in the darkness. When you know Him, then all mysteries about life will be a piece of cake for you to solve "Daniel 11:32b, .....but the people that know their God shall be strong, and do exploits."
  • Be a friend of the Holy Spirit and be a prayer addict.
  • Don't be slothful "Proverbs 6:6, Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:"

There are just so many points to make, but what will make you avoid regret is by doing "what you should do and not doing what you should not do as according to the will of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit."

Hallelujah, somebody.
