What To Do When You Fail

Wake up from that slumber called the failure...Accept what happen-whenever; you just accept it because it is bound to happen. Every human being is bound to fail in one area of his or her life.

1. Mark Manson asserted, "90% of your plans are going to fail in one area no matter what you do, get used to. It is in our nature to fail in some of our plans; only the God almighty is perfect. That's just how we were created. Believe me; if you accept what happens, you will start thinking of new ideas, and a better life opportunity will keep on generating inside of you. You will see yourself improving better than you were yesterday. Failure is success in progress; failure makes you see an opportunity that you were not able to see before. According to Ken Robinson, he said if you are not prepared to be wrong, you will never come up with anything original. So in all our life pursuits, we need to be prepared to go wrong; we need to accept our failure—that's our nature.

2. Check the cause of the failure- After accepting your failure, take your time to recover, and try your best to check the cause of your failure because if you leave it hanging, you are going to repeat that same mistake. An old-time saying."A lizard called his two children and asked them a question, how many times will something happen to you before you learn. The first child said twice, and the second said once. Now, who is more foolish, of course, the first child. Why? Because you don't let something happen to you twice before you learn. Making the same mistake twice is called stupidity. Once you fail, you have to take your time and check the cause of the failure so that you won't find yourself repeating the same mistake twice, just like the baby lizard said. A man born impotent grew up and got married, but his wife was not able to bear him a child this man, because of the old tradition, didn't bother to go to the hospital with his wife to know the cause of his not having a child, all the blame were laid on the woman, because of all this the man ended up getting married to another wife. The same mistake kept on repeating itself until the third wife came; this woman being more knowledgeable, forced his husband and co-wives to the hospital, and it was later discovered that the husband was the cause.

Some of us today act like the man in the passage; had it been he went to the hospital in the first place, he wouldn't have gotten married to three wives. But, because he did not bother to check the cause of his failure, he ended up making more mistakes. Failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently. When you fail, don't leave it hanging; try to check the cause and begin again more intelligently. When you do this, you will see the success behind it and take hold of it. It may be that our plans were not well arranged, or we failed to make the right approach, but if we leave it hanging, we will continue making that same mistake; once we check the cause, we will notice the error and then begin again more intelligently.

3. Set another goal-It was once said a man without a goal is a goat. The goal is what kept me moving. Once you have checked the cause of the failure and identified them, the next step you need to take is to set another goal; if not, you will keep on repeating that same mistake. There is always a way for a failure who wants to succeed only if they take the right approach. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness; you failed doesn't mean you should give up. Micheal Jordan asserted, "I can accept failure, everyone fails at something, but I can't accept not trying."

God called Jonah in the bible to go and preach to the people of Nineveh; he boarded a ship and decided to run away, not knowing that he was setting the wrong goals for himself. There was a great storm, and the people inside were shouting and praying to their God. Jonah realized that he was the cause of the great storm, told them to throw him out, and the people did as they were told; a big fish swallowed Jonah; he knew it was the work of God, and he stayed there for three days. While in the fish's stomach, Jonah decided to change his goals because he saw an error in his last goal; he knelt down and prayed to God, and God made the fish vomit him. He came out and went to Nineveh to preach repentance to the people, and they adhered to his voice. If Jonah hasn't set another goal for himself earlier enough, he would have died, but because he realized himself immediately, he was saved from destruction. We should do the same whenever we feel like we are going the wrong way.

4 . Change your approach: Most people would rather change their lives when they need to change themselves to improve their circumstances. Once you have set another goal, you are not supposed to use the same approach you used in your last goal because it will only lead you to failure once more. You have to start again more intelligently and differently in other to achieve a different result.
